Applied ICT A Level Unit 1 - ICT and Society
The version of IE 8 we're forced to use at school is doing really odd and painful things to the subnavigation look - leaving big gaps and whathaveyou. I'm trying to fix it but it only seems to happen at school and I can only fix it at home. If anything in the navigation looks really odd then an e-mail would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Exam Preparation
The exam paper will specify a scenario, from which you can develop an understanding of the needs of the target audience.
The exam is 15 hours long. Sections A to G are produced before the exam sessions, during the investigation time. During this time you also need to research and create all the content - which is the 21 marks in row K of the markgrid.
During the exam itself you simply need to produce the publication, evidence it (mainly using screenshots) and evaluate your work. Easy - if you've prepped well.
You will want to check the Software Guide section to make sure you're familiar with the skills you need to produce your publication. You can practice these all you want in the run up to the exam.
The exam paper includes a breakdown of the sections you need to produce.
Sections A to G are produced before the exam, during the investigation time, and bought into the room as paper copies:
- A - Timeplan
- B - Audience Needs Analysis
- C - Evaluation Criteria
- D - Bibliography
- E - Draft Designs
- F - Testing of Draft Designs
- G - Detailed Annotated Designs
You also take in text and image files to use as the content for your publication.
In the exam time you produce:
- H - Screenshot of researched material
- I - Evidence of making the publication
- J - Cross reference to research material
- K - Content and linking of content to sources
- L - Evaluation of publication
- M - Evaluation of Own Performance
- N - Updated timeplan
- O - Final screenshot of researched material
